What is Olympic Weightlifting?

Olympic Weightlifting involves two types of lifts: the ‘snatch’ and the ‘clean and jerk’. Athletes are categorized based on their body weight, and the combined maximum weight they lift determines the overall winner.

Traditionally male-dominated, women have only been allowed to participate in the Olympic Games for the sport since 2000.
